Episode 130: Of Cabbages and Kings

On this Memorial day weekend, we can't help but feel like we're living in the odd world of the Looking Glass! In New York we've had the new Knave of Hearts anointed, in Louisiana Obama and his entourage seem to have recreated the Walrus and the Carpenter and Congress has decided to shuffle in a new suit into the military's deck of cards while the Anglican Archbishop chastised the Episcopal church for ordaining an openly gay bishop. Along with those topics we had a remedial lesson on Memorial Day versus Veteran's day and talked breifly about the Korean situation.

As I say in the podcast, if you like the show, blog about us and tell four friends and blog about us! If you didn't like tonight's show, we invite you back next week (or in this case, for the next episode) where you will hear different words in a different order.

Episode 129: To mince or not to mince, that is the question.

Over the past week there have been a slew of news items with examples of people mincing or not mincing words. We've got orgies, bishops, politicians, judges and partiers.

This was my first night to run the show without being in SecondLife at all in a long time! As I mentioned last week, my computer is in the process of being repaired so things like live audio and snippets will have to wait for a while. All of the audio is post-recording which is adding to the release time for the show.

Episode 128: Smoking, Voting, Spending and Judging

In this weekend's show we are joined Bob and Brandon, hosts of the Laid Off Podcast. For the subject, we've got some interesting Marijuana stories as well as a recap of the President's visit to Buffalo and where the elections seem to be headed.

This was a really fun show tonight! We actually had to drop the articles that we had about Buffalo and the Kagan nomination to stay close to our time limit. We also had a lot of interaction with the folks in SecondLife as well as in the Talkshoe chat room.

Episode 127a: It's News But It's Not That Much News

President Obama was in town and I had to record my feelings and observations on the over-the-top news coverage that he got.

I mean, seriously people!  It felt like I was listening to walking narrated.

Episode 127: Why Are We Surprised?

Seriously, folks, how can we be surprised by what is going on in our country today? In tonight's episode we have articles that identify things that, given the narrative, should not surprise any of us.

Actually, the folks that joined us for the show last night pointed it out very well - I was making the assumption that people were surprised. We're not, really. If nothing else, we're generally now looking at everything that comes from the current administration.

As we look toward a primary and mid-term election cycle, I've decided that I'm going to write up a series of questions that I plan to fire off to candidates. As I build the list I'll post them here but I also want your input! Send me your questions and zip code so I can put them before the candidates that are relevant to you! When I get responses I'll be sharing them on the podcast as well as posting them here. You can use the usual methods of commenting to share your questions - email to conservativepodcast@gmail.com, posting them as a comment to an entry here or using the call-in comment line.

Episode 126: State of Insanity

That's it! We no longer live in the United States or in New York or Florida - we live in the State of Insanity. Well, okay, Hatton more-so than Ken but it's still a mad, mad world! In tonight's show we've got articles giving examples of insanity all over the place, from local police to administrative attentions.

The show appeared to be somewhat New York centric with most of the insanity either occurring in or initiating from the Empire state. We also closed with a quick review and commentary on a blog entry by the "Socialist Party of New York" that spells out where socialists think America should go. As I read this and looked at the news I can see even more clearly how the changes that the libs are trying to push are leading the nation down that path.
