Episode 262: Lemmings or Thelma and Louise?

It's funny what happens when you plan out an episode like this one.  I wasn't sure what the call-in volume was going to be like and it turned out to be pretty big!  My co-worker Marshall joined us (he's the one that stated that, "know I know how Juan Willaims feels.") as well as just about the entire regular crew!  The show started off somber but when we started the political talk it turned into something else entirely!

Wesboro Baptist Church Slammed with $10M Decision

We've talked about the "Phelp's family church" before, that ever so understanding group of hate-mongers that has made it a point to make themselves a loud presence at the funerals of AIDS victims and fallen soldiers. Actually, they try to show up anywhere they know they'll get media attention. We haven't posted much about the fact that they've been denied entry into Canada and England mainly because there were other things going on. However, the fact that the suit brought against the church's leaders by the father of Lance Cpl Matthew Snyder has been decided on is something that cannot be missed!

Episode 56: Conservative?

This show was a little difficult to record - there were some technical glitches with the stream and the mixer. That caused the delay in releasing it. Regardless of Mr. Murphy's presence, Ken and I talked about a bit of news: The Auto Bailout and the effect of the Unions and pensioners on the Big 3's bottom line. The bill failed and that's not a bad thing... but there are a number of sticky wickets to deal with when looking at a solution. Also, we talked about some little know news stories. One about Palin's Church and the fact that there were people in the building when it was set alight. Also the glossed-over story about the Oregon Bank Bombing. We couldn't help but discuss Blago and Illinois politics. Question with no answer: does anyone think Rahm Emanuel was involved? I personally think that Illinois should adopt a new state slogan... "Dead men tell no tales, but they can vote!" Finally we talked about one of the points of Conservatism - "a Strong stance against big spending Republicans and Democrats." In this portion, we came up with a great way to bring the economy back in line - if DC is so dead set on spending $770B to recover the economy, send it out as a stimulus check to all tax payers. Let them spend it back into the economy, use it to pay bills, buy a car or even invest!
