Episode 251: Looks Pretty Bad
Well, as usual we didn't make it through all of the articles - actually, we didn't make it beyond the Kooks Among Us segment. I tried but it just wasn't in the cards or the conversation this week. Tom Clement of rposl.org joined in as the co-host and then we were also joined by Joesf as well as an unexpected visit from my mom!

Articles for Episode 251: Looks Pretty Bad
Originally I wanted to do an all "tinfoil hat" episode this time but other news prevailed. There are things out there that don't look good, for both parties.
This episode is going to be broken into two segments.

Video Episode 3: Post Debate Comment
After watching and listening to the first Presidential debate tonight, I had to record a quick comment and response. What did you think?
I also assigned something of a homework question, which I'll see about putting up as a poll as well. Did "candidate" Obama provide the same level of specifics and details for his plans in 2008 that his campaign is now asking Romney for?

Episode 244: Framing the Debate
Wow! Tonight's episode went as planned but it definitely had a few explosive moments... in the interest of showing that we're not all mind-numbed robots, there's an interesting exchange that you'll need to keep an ear out for somewhere in the audio.
We talked about the concept of "Framing the Debate" and asked one homework question: What good sound byte can our side make to reset various debate issues. These include taxes (specifically the concept of the 1%) and abortion. Tweet your ideas to me at @ECConservative or post them as a comment here.

Articles for Episode 244: Framing the Debate
For so long, the folks on the left have appeared to dominate the talking points when it comes to political debate. Tonight we're going to look at examples of these, including the Aiken Incident, and talk about ways to counter assertions.
While we're going to be talking in general terms on some issues, there are articles to back up what much of the concept. Here they are:

Episode 236: Poor Planning, Bad Ideas and Desperation
Well, this episode did run a bit off plan, however there was a lot of good conversation! Instead of starting off right away with the normal flow of things, we began our show talking about the results of the Egyptian election.

Episode 191: Shocking Comments
In the wake of the signing of the debt deal, a lot of interesting comments have been made by members of both parties. Tonight we're going to continue our conversation on the concepts of tone and words used and the impact they have on our nation.
What a fun show we had tonight! Ken made it in for the introduction before his vacation schedule pulled him off the call, but we were joined by two of our regular listeners, TriSec - a "Boston Liberal" (his words, not mine) and Shoramin. What followed was a fun discussion that included some serious conversation about what is going on in Washington.

Episode 190: Unity, Convictions and Consequences
This weekend's episode was tough to put together. There is so much going on and, as you see below, there's a lot of different news going on. In this episode, we look at the sub-currents around the Debt Ceiling news and the overriding themes that seem to be playing out. It also took some editing and was delayed in being released. Our apologies for that.
However, we do sincerely thank all of you that support us each week by participating in our live recording session! As you hear every week, there is always something that the audience adds to the show. If you haven't had a chance to join in, try to make it on Sunday nights at 8:30pm Eastern.

Episode 120: It's All About the Vote
Tonight's episode featured a special guest co-host, David Oatney, host of Oatney on the Air and Tennessee State House Examiner for Examiner.com. I don't think I have to elaborate too much on the subject for tonight's show - it's obvious that history will record the actions of the House of Representatives this day.
While there were some articles for follow-up from past episodes, I had thought that some time during the show the actual results would be known. Unfortunately I didn't take into account the time-burning effects of such a collection of wind-bags when they have complete control of the media.

Episode 105: Commentary and Reasoned Debate
Tonight's off-scheduled show is brought to you by the letters "Y" (for yelling), "I" (for "impatient") and the number 42, which is either the average airspeed of a coconut laden swallow or maybe it's the answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe and everything. Or maybe both. Regardless, it's been a bit of a slow news week and with all the different issues that have come up recently with hot-button items, I felt it was time we talked about debating, discussions and arguments.
Some folks might wonder why we would bring up debating when we're a commentary show. That's part of the issue: some times people need to know the differences and seldom do they understand them.
