Episode 160: Forward and Back

It's a new year but that doesn't mean the politics has changed much! Sure, there is going to be a Republican majority in the House but that does not mean things aren't still getting pushed by Reid and Obama. With a nod to the past year, we look forward at new stories and situations.

It took some time to get this episode online and I thank everyone for their patience! We are in the process of looking at new mixing solutions since I had to load a different operating system on my machine. Need to find a VoIP (SIP) friendly mixer for Linux at this point.

Episode 120a: Dancin' Democrats

It's been three days since the Democrats pushed through the Senate version of "Health Care Reform" and we're still seeing our Commander in Chief in campaign mode trying to sell it!  In this morning's comments I reflect on the differences between reconciliation and amendments and I have a new phrase, gladly stolen from Michael Dinowitz of HouseOfFusion.com...

... is like sword-dancing blindfolded on a freshly waxed minefield.
This can apply in so many different areas today!

Episode 90: Analyzing Unfinished Business

On tonight's podcast we caught up with a few items that needed to be looked at again. Our government passed legislation that is already failing to live up to the promises. Big surprise there! We're also had to stomach through and comment on the words of a supporter of HR 3200. Beyond that, continued talk about the attitude of both sides on the health care issue. We now have a discussion forum at RepublicanOperative.com that you can access it by going to http://www.republicanoperative.com/forums/ecc-podcast-episodes/. Also, our facebook page is up and running and of course we have our store at Printfection.com/eccstuff. Thank you for your continued support and participation with the show. We also have a voice comment line! You can use the "Call Me" button to leave a voice comment at any time. Articles discussed in tonight's show: I played the audio for this before the show started. It's well worth the listen - Ronald Regan on Socialized Medicine (10 minute audio).

ObamaCare Line By Line

Thanks to the folks at RightSoup.com for linking to an actual Fact Check on ObamaCare. I felt it necessary to post the link to it here and address some of the more pertinent claims being made. The read is a long one but oh so much worth it! There are some claims that are being made (about 4 of the 47 claims discussed from the search) that are FALSE. The rest are either TRUE or PARTIALLY TRUE. This little synopsis should be a very good start for making real, legislatively based statements against this bill.

Episode 69: Misdirection of America's Attention

Tonight we decided to talk about things that were getting missed by the major media outlets - or they were being covered on page C-75 of the business section! The main focus was to bring out those stories that have been covered up by the wall-to-wall coverage of things like the AIG outrage. Now, I'm not going to accuse the media or the Democrats of doing anything as underhanded as using diversionary media release tactics. Then again, there once was an aspirin factory... Tonight we found some news items that have been glossed over and three specific bits of legislation. These bits of congressional language got some coverage in the past but have had movement that has gone mostly ignored. Along with a great crowd in Second Life, we were joined on the call by "Wacko Bob" who is associated with the ... Tonight's hidden gems included the following:

EPISODE 68a: AIG Executive Bonuses

Here's a new audio comment regarding the AIG executive bonus debacle that's been growing faster than a California wildfire. I don't agree with all the hype and fuss, mainly because there's a huge lie that's been perpetuated when it comes to the bonuses paid. Amazingly, I found my details in the New York Times! 400 people got bonuses, the biggest of which is $6.5 million. The smallest? How does $1,000 sound? And these are people that agreed to take a smaller bonus than their contract stated and work for $1 per year. You know it's bad when the show has to boo the New York State Assembly, but that's where things start and it's downhill from there! We didn't get to our teaser from last week so we'll talk about it next week!
