Tonight's episode started off with both hosts going way off topic - with a discussion about movies and history and historical reenactment. We finally pulled it together enough to get the show on the road! Not only that but we had some technical difficulties as well with Hatton being unable to log in to SecondLife and interact with that crowd. Starting off with a conversation about the new
cease fire in Gaza, where
both sides say they have won! One thing to note - the Israeli army plans to be
out of Gaza before we have a President Obama. Ken and I swap ideas on why this is. Do you have an idea why they're doing this? Email your thoughts on this topic to
conservativepodcast@gmail.com. Moving on to an impending action that Hatton has ring-side seats to, we pick up the issue of the Senecas and their cigarette taxes. After Gov. Patterson signed a law requiring wholesalers to certify that cigarettes sold to reservations would only be resold to natives, Seneca Nation President Barry Snyder has gone into action. The Senecas are preparing for an embargo and have
invoked a clause from a 1794 treaty, calling on the incoming President to provide the protection of federal troops. All of this in the name of taxes... or power. Speaking of taxes, the
tax payers in New York City will now be fronting almost $400m more for the completion of the new Yankee stadium in the form of a bond. This was approved even though the project is over budget and behind schedule. Amazingly enough, the cracks are stating to show on the left, especially with the mainstream media. We're actually starting to see articles that are turning a critical eye to Obama and his policies. One that was interesting was a commentary by Victor Davis Hansen that looked at
who was really to blame for things the left has been making noise for the last 8 years. Also, publishers are willing to show
signs of trouble in the creation of the Obama administration. They're also asking about the need for the
near police state of the inauguration. Hatton also had to read the
words Obama spoke from the steps of the Lincoln memorial. why would the next President say that he is
hopeful that America will survive?? Finally near the end of the show we were joined by
Tom Millican - an unaffiliated independent candidate in the 2008 presidential campaign. We discussed some of the issues that are still unresolved about Obama, including his birth and his backing.
