Articles for Episode 319: Godless

No matter how you look at it, respect for the religious beliefs of citizens is sorely lacking in this administration. Tonight we are going to discuss a number of articles that are hilighted by a statement made by, of all people, Russian President Vladimir Putin. There are plenty of examples of this and there are plenty of others that we've discussed in the past. Given the time, there are some off-topic items that we'll look at as well. Thanks to your support, this episode will be our first to air on the Boost Radio Network! We will be playing from 7-8pm on Wednesday nights and look forward to a strong working relationship with the hosts. This does not mean that our fundraising campaign is done though, as we still have three more quarters to fully fund. If you would like to donate use the link on the right hand side of the site. If you have any problems donating please contact us at conservativepodcast@gmail.com. Articles for this episode: Another short reading list for the other articles. You can join the conversation every Sunday night at 8:30pm and now if you want to help suggest articles, comment or just chat you can join us on Twitter at @ECConservative. If you want to comment on any of the articles, please feel free to start a discussion here, or email them to conservativepodcast@gmail.com. There are times when we just need to hear some reassuring words. They are rare these days and when present are hard to interpret. Looking at the article list we've got stories that might be reassuring for some people more than others.

Articles for Episode 258: Failures At Home and Abroad

Back to our regular time, we've got a bit of a doozie planned. Heading into the end of the year we see the status quo acting exactly as expected. There are things that need to be dealt with both domestically and abroad and the handling of it leaves much to be desired.

Before we get into the articles, I have to ask a favor. Please go to Red State Talk Radio's 2012 Talk Show of the Year poll and vote for our show. We can't do this without your support. Here are the articles for this episode:
You can bet there were other articles. Here they are:

Episode 235: Inspiring or Depressing

Another episode with a lot of audience participation!  We did deviate from our show notes somewhat, thanks to Joesf from Second Life for providing a news story that gives an example of the extremes that a father must go to in order to protect their children.

Episode 198: Words Mean Things

I've said the phrase, "words mean things," for quite some time. This time it was the subject for the show.  We got rather side-tracked on a couple of articles but made the point.

We are still asking our listeners to nominate us for the 7th Annual People's Choice Podcast Awards.  We're running in the "Politics/News" section and the number of nominations actually impacts a show's placement on the voting when all is said and done.  Only the top 10 shows nominated will be eligible to be voted on.  We're asking for your help in putting us in the "Politics/News" category at http://podcastawards.com/.  You can only put one nomination form in, so if there are other podcasts/genres you want to nominate for, get them together and submit them before September 30th.

Listen to our show and many other great conservative podcasts, streamed 24/7 on the Red State Talk Radio Network. Visit their site at http://www.redstatetalkradio.com. You can also find the show on Stitcher radio, a new mobile-only service for the iThings and Android. Learn more at stitcher.com.

Please be sure to participate in our t-shirt poll to let us know what kind of interest there would be. Email comments to conservativepodcast@gmail.com or post them on the site. If you didn't like the show, we invite you to come back next week for different words in a different order.

Episode 180: Other Peoples Business

Sorry for the delay in posting the download link for this episode.  I've been a bit under the weather.

It seems that folks have nothing better to do than get in to other peoples business these days!  In this episode we take a look at some articles that give examples of this, from the local and state level to the President's words on Israel and their sharp retort.

Episode 156: Enough!

It seems like there have been a few things coming to a boiling point with people. We had a swing of power at the midterms and now more things are starting to become rational... or are they? Tonight we discuss some articles where people are getting their "due" and others where they're almost there.

Episode 138: Consideration

We're back with a new location in SecondLife and somewhat refreshed from the vacation! Tonight's episode was a bit bumpy but a whole lot of fun.

I'm not going to ask, "why did they do this," for the articles tonight. Instead I'm going to ask, "did they consider the consequences?" In most cases the answer is a resounding, "no."

Episode 82: What were we saying about foreign policy?

In this episode of the podcast, Ken and I reflect on the warnings given to the Obama administration and show examples of how their refusal to at least acknowledge those warnings is now coming back to bite them in the rear end! When it comes to foreign policy, the liberal concept that "everyone will love us if we don't flex our muscles" has resulted in creating more harm than good for the US abroad. Last weekend I talked about the community at RepublicanOperative.com! This morning I got word that a message area specific to our podcast has been created! You can access it by going to http://www.republicanoperative.com/forums/ecc-podcast-episodes/. Also, our facebook page is up and running and of course we have our store at Printfection.com/eccstuff. Episode 80: Obama Needs a Better Speech Writer

In this episode we were supposed to discuss Obama's recent speeches and the self-contradictions and historical mistakes he's made. We're also going to extend the show to proclamations and statements made by Obama's representatives in the administration. That's where we started - and a lot of what we did talk about. However, there were some other areas that had to be talked about as well! There were some great comments and a few interesting side-topics that may have to be explored later. Here's what we talked about (at least a few of the articles)
As much as we wanted to talk about these, time just wasn't there for it

Episode 79: A Dog's Tale of Foreign and Domestic Policies

We had a lot to discuss on tonight's show - from the heroic deeds of a little dog to the misguided actions of the party that doesn't want to offend any one. We were joined by quite a few folks in both SecondLife and TalkShoe that made the show great! Be sure to listen for the information about our new sponsor! There are money saving codes for GoDaddy.com in the podcast. Also, stay tuned as we're going to be launching a product line soon. Items discussed in tonight's show:

Episode 66: Obama, Rush and Israel - Porn or Coffee?

We had a fun time talking about a few different subjects! As the Talkshoe teaser mentioned, "How Obama's speech was scary, Rush's speech was right and Israel is getting hit with rockets again. Also an example of using research to prove a point not made and a coffee shop that's heating up!" If you are in the Buffalo area and want information on the Tea Party, check out Political Class Dismissed.

Episode 60: History and the Future

Tonight's episode started off with both hosts going way off topic - with a discussion about movies and history and historical reenactment. We finally pulled it together enough to get the show on the road! Not only that but we had some technical difficulties as well with Hatton being unable to log in to SecondLife and interact with that crowd. Starting off with a conversation about the new cease fire in Gaza, where both sides say they have won! One thing to note - the Israeli army plans to be out of Gaza before we have a President Obama. Ken and I swap ideas on why this is. Do you have an idea why they're doing this? Email your thoughts on this topic to conservativepodcast@gmail.com. Moving on to an impending action that Hatton has ring-side seats to, we pick up the issue of the Senecas and their cigarette taxes. After Gov. Patterson signed a law requiring wholesalers to certify that cigarettes sold to reservations would only be resold to natives, Seneca Nation President Barry Snyder has gone into action. The Senecas are preparing for an embargo and have invoked a clause from a 1794 treaty, calling on the incoming President to provide the protection of federal troops. All of this in the name of taxes... or power. Speaking of taxes, the tax payers in New York City will now be fronting almost $400m more for the completion of the new Yankee stadium in the form of a bond. This was approved even though the project is over budget and behind schedule. Amazingly enough, the cracks are stating to show on the left, especially with the mainstream media. We're actually starting to see articles that are turning a critical eye to Obama and his policies. One that was interesting was a commentary by Victor Davis Hansen that looked at who was really to blame for things the left has been making noise for the last 8 years. Also, publishers are willing to show signs of trouble in the creation of the Obama administration. They're also asking about the need for the near police state of the inauguration. Hatton also had to read the words Obama spoke from the steps of the Lincoln memorial. why would the next President say that he is hopeful that America will survive?? Finally near the end of the show we were joined by Tom Millican - an unaffiliated independent candidate in the 2008 presidential campaign. We discussed some of the issues that are still unresolved about Obama, including his birth and his backing.

Episode 58: Richardson, Israel, Taxes ... and Leather?

Great first show of 2009! There was a good crowd in both SecondLife and in the TalkShoe chat rooms. We were joined about half-way through the show by Adam Graham of the Truth & Hope Report. We even had a quasi-liberal in SecondLife that was nice enough to throw in comments every now and then! A reminder about our "calls for help". We're putting out a call for guests to help us out by opening the show for us. It can be live during the show or it can be pre-recorded and sent via email. We're also looking for feedback about the concept of East Coast Conservative merchandise. Please email us at conservativepodcast@gmail.com with thoughts and ideas. Tonight's conversation brought out some interesting phrases such as, "Taxing to Prosperity", "Pounding the poo" and "Duck & Cover". Reference articles:

EPISODE 29: Obama Promises Gaffs for Deserters

Tonight's show (okay, last night, I'm late posting show notes) went pretty well. Of course we had to talk about Hillary suspending her campaign and Obama's plans moving forward. Be sure to keep an ear out for my personal tinfoil hat theory on Obama and Rev. Wright. It may be crackpot but then again, they might be crazy enough to try it! Articles discussed tonight:
In addition to those articles we touched on the state of the USS George Washington, CVN-73. We talked about the state of "race relations" and a few topics from that. We also talked about a really great book entitled Freehold by Michael Z. Williamson. A great SF read! Thanks for listening!
