Episdoe 202: What's That You Say?

Well, the last week has been full of interesting things being said, many of them not so politically expedient or prudent. That's what is up on deck for this episode!  We were joined by a few extra callers, including my mom!  As I anticipated, we only managed to get through a few of the articles, yet the conversation was lively and educational.

It's amazing what comes out of the mouths of children and politicians. Sometimes they aren't so far apart. Here are the articles we're going to discuss for this episode, which includes some interesting examples.
And, of course, there were stories that bear linking to but didn't fit either the subject or the time constraints.

Since the primary season is coming on us so quickly, it seems that many folks are already beginning to make endorsements and giving advise for the 2012 election.

We had quite a few folks join us for the conversation tonight! If you want to join us, put it on your calendar! We record every Sunday night at 8:30pm Eastern Time. If you visit our recording page at http://www.talkshoe.com/tc/75570 there is even a countdown to the next scheduled episode.

We are asking our listeners to nominate us for the 7th Annual People's Choice Podcast Awards.  We're running in the "Politics/News" section and the number of nominations actually impacts a show's placement on the voting when all is said and done.  Only the top 10 shows nominated will be eligible to be voted on.  We're asking for your help in putting us in the "Politics/News" category at http://podcastawards.com/.  You can only put one nomination form in, so if there are other podcasts/genres you want to nominate for, get them together and submit them before September 30th.

Episode 193: Claims and Ammunition

There were some technical issues with this episode that delayed it from being released. Regular listeners will notice a difference in the audio quality, turns out my system decided not to use the fancy mixer and reverted to the internal microphone on my laptop for the show. I've corrected that for next week!

Some times in battle, the best move is to wait for the opponent to either implode or for their members to turn on them when the game changes pace. Then again, sometimes you have to take a serious look at your own side. Tonight we talk about the ammo being provided by politicians from both sides, and the insanity or opportunity it represents.

This episode, like many others, didn't make it through all of the articles for the evening. There were some particularly good points raised, and Bachmann's "$2 Gas" coupled with comments I heard on Bob Brinker's Money Talk about an economist suggesting that an executive order forcing all new federal fleet vehicles to run on natural gas would have just about that impact made for some interesting conversation.

Episode 190: Unity, Convictions and Consequences

This weekend's episode was tough to put together. There is so much going on and, as you see below, there's a lot of different news going on. In this episode, we look at the sub-currents around the Debt Ceiling news and the overriding themes that seem to be playing out.  It also took some editing and was delayed in being released.  Our apologies for that.

However, we do sincerely thank all of you that support us each week by participating in our live recording session!  As you hear every week, there is always something that the audience adds to the show.  If you haven't had a chance to join in, try to make it on Sunday nights at 8:30pm Eastern.

Episode 189: More Polls, More Candidates

There was a bit of post-production work that had to be put in to releasing this episode.  For those that were with us during the recording session, thank you for your patience and you'll note that not much actually got cut out in the edit.  Quite a fun show with a reference to a line from "Squonk the Apprentice" as released by EscapePod.

We also released news about an event in October being put on by our friends at Conservatives On the Move PAC!  Ken and I will be attending this event and podcasting for as much of it as we can.  There is the originally scheduled talk with Col. Oliver North as well as a scheduled GOP Presidential Candidate debate.  We will be releasing more information as it comes available.

Every week we collect a large number of articles. In the past I've simply linked to the ones that we plan to use for the show. From now on, I'll include them in a section I like to call, "what caught our eye." Here are the articles that didn't make the show.

    Episode 188: Reviving America

Our country is on a downward spiral no matter how you look at it. You can look at economics, social issues, foreign policy and even the way the media is reporting things and see desperation on the part of the left. In this episode we start looking at some of the contenders on the GOP side that are working hard to revive America.

Tonight was a fun show with a lot of audience input!  A special thank you to all of those who take the time to join us for our recording process!
