Wow, "Sprummer" (spring/summer) is here and life has gotten a lot busier around here. My sincere apologies for those that use the website to track the podcast, here is last week's episode!
There was a lot of fun to be had with the concept of applying the phrase, "so much for..." to each of the articles discussed in this episode.

Articles for Episode 230: So Much For...
When the show notes get put together for an episode, normally there is a common theme. This time it's more of a common phrase applied. Tonight we've got a number of items to discuss that cover a wide range of topics.
Here are the articles, like I said, the subject range is pretty broad tonight!

Episode 195: This is Supposed to be Organized?
This was a fun episode to record and, as has been the case lately, we didn't get through all of the articles! There's a lot to discuss beyond the items we managed to cover here. Be sure to check out the show notes for the articles and video we reference in the show.
Two links I mentioned that I'd add when I posted the show; first was for an article written by one of our listeners and posted here in October of last year entitled The Tipping Point. The second was for a sci-fi short I recently listed to over on EscapePod, entitled Union Dues – Sidekicks in Stockholm which I listened to and then heard about the September 17 stuff.

Articles for Episode 195: This is Supposed to be Organized?
We often hear the President referred to as a, "community organizer." Unfortunately, I think he may have lost his skills in the organization department long ago, as the articles we have on tap for this episode point out a large amount of confusion and discontent, even within his own power base.
Also, you may notice a poll on the right-hand sidebar of the site. We're looking at a new way to create high-quality silk-screened t-shirts at an affordable cost. It's my own opinion that the shirt designs may sell better if we don't rely on an outside service for the production and delivery. Unfortunately for that to work we need to know what kind of demand we have from our listeners. Please take a moment to answer the poll before it closes on 9/19 so we can get a good idea of what folks want. Thanks!

Episode 128: Smoking, Voting, Spending and Judging
In this weekend's show we are joined Bob and Brandon, hosts of the Laid Off Podcast. For the subject, we've got some interesting Marijuana stories as well as a recap of the President's visit to Buffalo and where the elections seem to be headed.
This was a really fun show tonight! We actually had to drop the articles that we had about Buffalo and the Kagan nomination to stay close to our time limit. We also had a lot of interaction with the folks in SecondLife as well as in the Talkshoe chat room.

Episode 89: Angry Mob or Concerned Citizens?
Tonight's show is going to have to center on a few things that we've talked about before but have to be touched on again. First off, some updates to things that we've talked about before. Also, the events of this past week cannot go without some discussion. We've been called an angry mob and been asked to snitch on our neighbors... and still people don't see the actions of the administration as dangerous. This episode is being released unedited - there are some distractions and one restart but to be honest that's one of the things you have to deal with when recording "live". Maybe it's part of that raw, angry mob mentality but I'm going to leave it in this week. We now have a discussion forum at RepublicanOperative.com thatyou can access it by going to http://www.republicanoperative.com/forums/ecc-podcast-episodes/. Also, our facebook page is up and running and of course we have our store at Printfection.com/eccstuff. Thank you for your continued support and participation with the show. We also have a voice comment line! You can use the "Call Me" button to leave a voice comment at any time. Articles discussed in tonight's show:

Episode 65: Call me A Coward One More Time
I had to start the show tonight with a comment that I received via IM - that a friend of mine is getting more and more hostile when it comes to politics and where the Democrats are taking this country.
My comment to her, and in general, is that while Thomas Jefferson did say "I hold it that a little rebellion now and then is a good thing, and as necessary in the political world as storms in the physical", he was also talking in a time when people did not have the right to express themselves. As with war and taxes, the way we must conduct ourselves in the return to Conservative principles must be thought about carefully.
Tonight we paid special attention to the statement of Eric Holder, who called the American people "cowards" when it came to race issues. Ken and I discussed his comments and the absurdity of them at length. In addition we brought in the comments of Lawernce Fishbourne from The View to get another interesting take on the comments and the "state of the races" as he saw them. After that spirited conversation we decided to mention the slipping memory of Senator Burris, who admitted that he did try to raise money for Blagojevich and that now he's done with the media. Ken's only reaction to this - it's Chicago politics, why are people surprised? Finally we did have time to talk for a few minutes about the Mortgage Bailiout and try to understand the what's and why's of this plan.
We had to mention the 4 minute rant by Rick Santelli and talk about the concept of what the bill is proposing and how the "group A" foreclosures are affecting the "group B" home values. In order to close on a good note, the home owners in the neighborhood affected by the crash of flight 3407 are going to be allowed back into their homes soon. Also, the people in charge of the mainly volunteer recovery effort have been approached by organizations asking how they were able to so effectively organize resources! Thanks to all who joined in and listened in! If you want to send comments, please email them to conservativepodcast@gmail.com or post them on the web site.

- John McCain's Acceptance Speech
A quote I found particularly important from McCain's speech:
"If you find faults with our country, make it a better one. If you're disappointed with the mistakes of government, join its ranks and work to correct them. Enlist in our Armed Forces. Become a teacher. Enter the ministry. Run for public office. Feed a hungry child. Teach an illiterate adult to read. Comfort the afflicted. Defend the rights of the oppressed. Our country will be the better, and you will be the happier. Because nothing brings greater happiness in life than to serve a cause greater than yourself." - Sen. John McCain - Transcript of Gov. Palin's speech
She had a few stingers to deliver, here were my favorites:
"I guess a small-town mayor is sort of like a "community organizer," except that you have actual responsibilities."
"We tend to prefer candidates who don't talk about us one way in Scranton and another way in San Francisco."
"And there is much to like and admire about our opponent. But listening to him speak, it's easy to forget that this is a man who has authored two memoirs but not a single major law or reform - not even in the state senate." - Gov. Sarah Palin
